· “ Raising Polyclonal Antibodies in rabbit against the White Spot Syndrome Virus

(WSSV) of the giant Indian tiger prawn Penaeus monodon for efficient diagnosis

by Western Blot test”., (May '03--June '03 – Two months)

· The White spot syndrome is a viral disease caused by the Systemic

Ectodermal and Mesodermal BaculoVirus (SEMBV) in penaeid

shrimps causing extensive damage and severe economic loss for

the aqua farmers worldwide. Hence efficient diagnostic procedures

are required to detect the presence of the disease in brood stock

and juveniles. The project is aimed at raising polyclonal antibodies

against the viral protein in rabbit.

• Worked in the Molecular biology lab at the Spic Bioprocess Laboratory, Taramani,

Bangalore, Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL), Chennai.
